The Canadian Art Therapy Association

Prairie Chapter of CATA

CATA recently amended its by-laws to accept regional chapter development. CATA considers applications to form chapters from regional groups in Canada based on each individual request. Criteria include a completed CATA Application for Chapter Status, a mission statement or rationale, a plan as to how the chapter will promote art therapy in their region and a group of at least four people to form an executive.

The Prairie Chapter of CATA was founded May 31, 2006 by art therapists in Calgary and Edmonton to promote art therapy as a profession and to provide networking and support for its members. Virtual meetings are held every two months by email. All prairie CATA members including students and associates are welcome to join.
