Guideline for Submissions to the Journal
The Canadian Art Therapy Association Journal (CATAJ) (ISSN 0832-2473) is a scholarly journal published biannually by the Association and is distributed free to all members. CATAJ is indexed in the CINAHL and ARTbibliographiesModern Databases.
Submissions to the CATA Journal should be submitted to the Acting Editor, CATA Journal, 26 Earl Grey Road, Toronto, Ontario, M4J 3L2.
Submission should be in triplicate (an original and two copies), along with a 100 word abstract, typed on one side of firm paper, measuring 81/2" x 11", with margins of at least one inch on all four sides. The entire manuscript must be double-spaced, including quotations, footnotes, references and tables. Any photographs that accompany an article should be a minimum of 4" x 6", preferably glossy black and white and labeled on back with figure number and title. Please include three photocopies of each picture to be sent to reviewers, along with the article. If photos are sent via email they should be of very high resolution, at least 150 dpi at 3" x 4" (average size of reproductions in the journal) and should be saved as a "tiff." not a "jpeg".
References should be listed in alphabetical sequence on a separate sheet at the end of the paper. Please use the APA style of referencing. Each reference should include in order: last names and first initials of authors, year of publication, full title, journal and publisher spelled out fully (including city and province/state of book publisher). References from journals must include year of publication and volume, issue and page numbers of journal articles. Do not underline. If your paper is accepted, you will be asked to submit your article on an IBM compatible diskette compatible with Microsoft Windows XP or to send it via email to the CATAJ Editorial email address, heleneburt@sympatico.ca.
Papers previously published or presently under consideration elsewhere are not eligible for Editorial review. The Editorial Board reserves the right to make changes necessary to ensure correctness of grammar, clarity of presentation, and to edit accepted manuscripts in conformance with CATA Journal style and standards.
Material in the CATA Journal does not reflect the endorsement of, or official attitude of the Canadian Art Therapy Association or the editorial board of the CATA Journal.
